Running for 1st seat county commissioner

My Mission

At its core, my vision is simple: a society that honors service, protects the vulnerable, and invests in a sustainable, responsible future where both people and the planet can flourish.I believe that a strong future is built not on extraction or excess, but on respect: respect for people, for community, and for the land that sustains us. That means committing to good health, security, food, and housing as basic pillars of human dignity. It also means embracing an environmentally conscientious approach rooted in land stewardship, while holding fast to the importance of fiscal responsibility so that our choices today don't burden following generations.

About

I was born in San Francisco to an immigrant father and a stay-at-home mother, the youngest of seven children. Growing up mixed-race, I often felt like an outsider but I found belonging among others who felt the same. That early experience shaped how I see the world: people need community, and when they have it, they take care of one another.I lived through times of profound change—from the cultural shifts of the 1970s and the AIDS crisis in the Bay Area in the 1980s, to the oil wars of the 1990s. Through it all, I saw that while the challenges we face may evolve, our need for compassion, connection, and strong communities never does.I built a career in tech while raising my children, and motherhood shaped my leadership style: put people first, listen and show respect, and success will follow. That belief carried me through both personal and professional challenges, including the 2002 dot-com bubble, which ultimately brought me to Southern Oregon. What I found here was something I didn’t know I was missing. I found space to breathe, a deep sense of community, and a place to truly call home. Ashland became that home. My children became adults here, attending Southern Oregon University and Rogue Community College and starting their own families, and I became more rooted in the life of this valley. In recent years, my focus has shifted from business metrics to something far more meaningful: caring for loved ones, engaging with my community, and embracing all that this region has to offer. From local events and performances to time spent outdoors, this place has given me so much. That’s why I’m running. I want to protect what makes this community special and ensure it continues to thrive for generations to come.
